Obituary

Salvatore Marsocci, Jr., 93, of West Warwick went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 10, 2019. “Jr.” was a lifelong resident of West Warwick and was the owner/operator of the former Washington Street Cafe until his retirement.
He was the son of the late Salvatore and Alice (Blais) Marsocci, Sr. of West Warwick. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine C. (White) Marsocci; his sons, Stephen Marsocci and his wife, Barbara of Coventry, Wayne Marsocci and his wife, Valerie of Coventry, and his daughter, Alice Losasso and her husband, Richard of Palm Coast, Florida; five grandchildren, Stephen, Vanessa, Michael, Kurt, and Brittney Marsocci; three great grandchildren, Marcus, Lily, and Alesandra Marsocci; and a sister, Mae Cote of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
He was the brother of the late Fabrazio, George, and Norman Marsocci, Viola Cardillo and Gloria Kimbal.
“Jr.” loved sports and was an avid golfer, bowler, and philanthropist. He was a booster of West Warwick High School Athletics and was known locally as “West Warwick's Number One Fan”. He was inducted into the West Warwick Athletic Hall of Fame for his support of high school athletics. “Jr.” was one of the original founders of the West Warwick Little League. He was involved in the community and was a former member of the West Warwick Lodge of Elks and both the West Warwick and Valley Country Clubs. He was a volunteer at the J. Arthur Trudeau Center, Meals on Wheels, Rhode Island Food Bank and West Warwick Food Pantry, as well as the Coventry Little League. “Jr.” was a proud U.S. World War II Navy veteran.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 8 to 9:30 am in the Potvin-Quinn Funeral Home, 45 Curson Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence Street, West Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the West Warwick Wizards Fund, Attn: Greg Kortick, One Webster Knight Drive, West Warwick, R.I. 02893.
