Raymond F. Zubrisky Obituary

Zubrisky, Raymond F., 91, died Friday, March 25, 2016. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Pirraglia) Zubrisky. Born in Providence, son of the late Francis and Ruth (Raymond) Zubrisky he had resided in Maryland for 10 years before moving back to Warwick in 1984. Raymond had joined the Navy at age 18, after graduating from Gorton High School, and had served as an aviation mechanic during WWII. He had worked as a sheet metal mechanic at Electric Boat in Groton and Quonset Point until 1974. For 10 years he worked installing instruments on test aircraft for the Navy in Pawtuxet River, MD. He had held his private pilot license for many years until the age of 81. He also enjoyed sailing and had worked part time at Greenwich Bay Marina. He was the beloved father of Raymond F. Zubrisky, Jr., Michael F. Zubrisky, and Susan M. Anderson; grandfather of Michael F. Zubrisky, Jr., Micaela Costa, and Lauren Anderson; brother of Eileen Dorr and the late Edwin Zubrisky.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 9 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane. Burial with military honors in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions to J.
