Obituary

Prescott E. Froberg, 80, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully Monday, August 8, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Florence M. (Reilly) Froberg for fifty-three years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Prescott D. and M. Genevieve (Bolton) Froberg.
Mr. Froberg worked as a technician for the Telephone Company for many years before retiring. After his retirement, he worked as the safety officer at Conanicut Marina.
He was a life member and former Chief of the Jamestown Fire Department. He was a member and former President of the RI Central Firefighters League, a lifetime member of the RI Communications Officers Association, a lifetime member of the RI Fire Chiefs Association, a member of the New England International Fire Chiefs Association; and received the Theodore M. Vail Medal for lifesaving.
A communicant of St. Mark Church, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He leaves five children, Dr. Karen M. Froberg-Fejko and her husband Michael, Susan M. Froberg and her friend David, Stephen P. Froberg and his wife Antonia, Kristen C. Hartley and her husband Travis and Kevin S. Froberg and his wife Meghan; two brothers, Kenneth Froberg and Stephen Froberg; and five grandchildren, Allison, Matthew, Colton, Joseph and Olivia. He was the brother of the late Claire Froberg.
His funeral will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 at 8:30 from FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown. Burial will follow in St. Mark Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Jamestown Fire Department will be appreciated.
