John A. Muro Obituary

John A. Muro, 71, a retired real estate developer passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 at Hope Hospice & Palliative Care in Providence. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Anthony and Phyllis (Pupecki) Muro. He was the beloved father of Janine A. Passaretti-Molloy and her husband Dennis, and Erika D. Muro and her fiancé Steven; loving grandfather of Jacqueline, Victoria, Olivia Passaretti, and Brooklynn and John Paul Catanzaro. He was the brother of Katherine Gardiner and her husband Mel, and James Muro and his wife Kathleen. Mr. Muro served in the Air Force National Guard.

John was the type of person who never quit anything. He loved seeing the things he worked for come together. He loved building houses, and was passionate of the smallest of details. He loved beautiful architecture, beautiful cars, playing golf, and great food. But his love for his children and his grandchildren was second to none. He always said everything he did he did for his children. He faced and battled cancer multiple times in his life which he beat each time because of his incredible mindset that said “I’m not going down without a fight” and that is just what he did. He fought hard for everything until the very end when his journey in this life was complete. As Frank Sinatra sang and he lived for the saying “I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way” he certainly lived these words and is now home in peace with the angels.

His funeral will be held Monday, November 25, 2019 at 10 AM from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 3rd St., East Greenwich. Visitation Monday morning 9-10 AM.
