Jeffrey Marandola of Scituate RI, age 64, passed away peacefully at home on January 23rd with his loving family by his side. He was a proud father, grandfather and devoted husband to Linda Marandola. Born on June 26th, 1956, he was the youngest son to George and Margaret Marandola, and brother to David and Thom Marandola.
For the past 33 years he has worked as a project manager for Tomark Construction. There wasn’t a problem he couldn’t help solve or a tool that he couldn’t locate. In his spare time he worked tirelessly to preserve his parents legacy by maintaining their family farm and it's many gardens. Most often he could be found barefoot tending to his vegetable garden and prized dahlia collection. It was a labor of love that he enjoyed year round.
He loved spending afternoons floating down the Pawtuxet river in his kayak, going for mystery rides, and spending time with his family. Jeff was a great listener and would spare you his opinion if what you really needed was a hug or some reassurance. He was a man with a vocabulary almost as colorful as his dahlias.
Jeff was knowledgeable, punctual, easygoing, thoughtful, and selfless. A few months ago he was diagnosed with stage IV cancer. Faced with impending doom he managed to stay positive and strong for his loved ones. In between the months of treatments he discovered a new passion for baking and loved making cookies and fudge. He even managed to cross off some things on his bucket list.
His recent battle showed his courage in facing life's challenges with patience and grace. Despite the constant pain, Jeff remained positive and maintained strength until the very end. He will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew him. His daughter Laurie encourages you to share some stories about Jeff in the comment section.
