Obituary

James A. Chase, 68, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Lori A. (Bonnier) Chase. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late James O. “Jiggs” and Hazel E. (Wilson) Chase. Jim earned a Bachelor Degree from Roger Williams University and was a Vice President with Citizens Bank before retiring in 2008. He was a Smithfield resident for 33 years and a past member of the Smithfield Land Trust. He was a member and Past Master of Friendship Lodge #7, F&AM, Chepachet, the Scottish Rite, Valley of Providence, Palestine Shrine and the Swords of Bunker Hill. He was a board member and treasurer of the Chepachet Cemetery Association, former member of the Glocester Country Club, a former Boy Scout and former volunteer fireman with Chepachet Fire Department.
In addition to his wife, he was the loving father of Sarah E. Carnevale and her husband Eric of Providence and grandfather of Violet A. Carnevale. He was the brother of Dr. Bruce E. Chase of Middleboro, MA and Kathy E. Cabral of Chepachet. He is also survived by five loving nieces.
His funeral will be held Friday, June 15, 2018 at 10am in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Pike (Rt.44) Greenville. Burial will be private. Visitation Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or Friendship Lodge #7, F&AM Scholarship Fund, PO Box 458, Chepachet, RI 02814 will be appreciated.
