February 3, 1946 - December 25, 2020
Born in Providence
Resided in Warwick, Rhode Island
Allan “Al” M. Jones, 74, formerly of Warwick, RI passed away at Hebert Health Center in Smithfield, RI on December 25, 2020 due to complications from COVID-19 and Alzheimer’s Disease.
Al was the owner of Northeast Home Improvements for 30 years until his retirement. He will best be remembered for his ability to fix just about anything. He had an innate ability to understand electronic, mechanical, automotive or construction problems and quickly resolve them. He always treated his business customers fairly. Al was an honest and hardworking person, who was never too busy to help others in need. When not at work, Al loved to relax and be around friends and family, and enjoyed listening to music. He especially enjoyed Karaoke and Card Night with his friends at the former Fiddler’s Green in Warwick. He also loved animals, especially cats, and was always caring for and feeding the birds and animals that lived in the wooded area next to his house. It brought him great enjoyment to watch them devour the various treats that he left for them. Al had an infectious laugh and enjoyed laughing and interacting with his large extended family.
Allan was the son of the late Donald Jones and Lorraine Jones-Joly of Cranston, RI. He is survived by his sister Cynthia Erickson and her husband Ray of Ocean Ridge, FL along with their four sons Brian, Timothy, Sean and Raymond, his brother Mark and his wife Mary of Warwick, RI and their two sons Nathan and Nicholas and his sister Patricia Procaccini and her husband Michael of Warwick, RI and their four children Alex, Eric, Nicole and John along with 6 great nephews and 4 great nieces.
To honor Al’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Al wanted to be remembered as he was to those that cared about him. Due to Covid-19, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick, RI, at a future date to be announced, followed with a celebration of Allan’s life. Burial will be private.
He wished for donations to be made to any of the causes he cared so much about. These include: the Warwick Animal Shelter, the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, the RI Foodbank, and Hope Health Hospice of RI. For those who wish to share their thoughts and remembrances of Allan, there is a Guest Book and link to his Video Tribute on the QuinnFuneralHome.com website.
